Businesses Caring for our Bays, what is that?
Businesses Caring For Our Bays is an opt-in endorsement program for businesses within the Port Phillip Catchment who are interested in cost-effective, triple bottom-line sustainable business management practices. We envision a Greater Melbourne and Geelong-wide community of respected local businesses acting as custodians for Port Phillip Bay (including Corio Bay), its waterways and the surrounding land and communities. Businesses Caring For Our Bays are recognised and promoted by the program, and enjoy greater customer respect and patronage as a result.
Businesses Caring For Our Bays is a joint initiative between Connected to Port Phillip and the Bellarine Catchment Network Caring For Our Bays program, both non-profit organisations with a focus on caring for the environment as a community, and reconnecting locals with nature and the magic of our bays and waterways.

How it Works
Register your interest in the program and we will be in touch to learn about your business and discuss solutions. We will work with you to tailor business solutions, whether as tiny steps towards a greater goal, or in one big leap, and organise the implementation of those solutions with our solution providers. Your steps towards reducing your impact on the bay will be recognised by our endorsement program, and we will promote your business to the wider community.
Program co-design by businesses, the waste-management industry and other solutions-providers will be the key to this initiative’s success. We will develop local programs built for and with individual locale-based trading communities. We will provide workshops for businesses and traders associations, consultations and solutions in partnership with Barwon South West Waste Recovery Group and other solutions-partners.
All resources in the program are free of charge, including workshops, business assessments and consultations and printable materials.
